Part and parcel of commissioning a new residence within a UNESCO World Heritage Site lies in a highly complex planning process, which, as an outsider living in a different country one can admire but which one could not possibly pursue oneself. From this an enduring friendship with each and every family member over the ensuing two decades has emerged.
